Perinatal Therapy in NYC

Offering Virtual Therapy Across New York and New Jersey

This stage begins before the baby arrives.

It can hold excitement, anticipation, and a sense that something meaningful is ahead.

And at the same time, it can feel heavier, more uncertain, and more overwhelming than you expected.

Not just nerves.

Not just hormones.

Something deeper.

You may find yourself thinking more than usual, worrying about things you can’t fully control, or feeling pressure to do everything “right” before the baby is even here.

You can book a free 15 minute consultation below to talk through what’s going on and see if this feels like a good fit.

You don’t have to commit to ongoing therapy to book this call.

Understanding What You’re Experiencing

This stage begins before the baby arrives.

It can hold excitement, anticipation, and a sense that something meaningful is ahead.

And at the same time, it can feel heavier, more uncertain, and more overwhelming than you expected.

Not just nerves.

Not just hormones.

Something deeper.

You may find yourself thinking more than usual, worrying about things you can’t fully control, or feeling pressure to do everything “right” before the baby is even here.

You don’t need to brush that off.

And you don’t need to wait until things get worse to have support.

How Therapy Can Help

Therapy gives you space to slow this process down so it doesn’t feel like everything is happening all at once internally.

We focus on helping your system come out of that constant anticipation and pressure so you’re not moving through this stage already overwhelmed.

We look at what your mind is doing — the overthinking, the worry, the need to prepare — and begin to understand what’s driving it.

We also explore the expectations you may be carrying. This can include the pressure to feel a certain way, to be fully ready, or to manage everything without struggle.

As we work through this, your system starts to feel more settled.

You feel less consumed by your thoughts, less on edge, and more able to experience this stage without it feeling so heavy.

This doesn’t remove the unknowns. But it changes how you’re holding them.

How I Work

My approach is thoughtful, structured, and grounded in both insight and practical support.

I start by creating a space where you can be honest about what this is actually like, without minimizing it or feeling like you should be handling it differently.

From there, we look at your thought patterns to understand if there are cycles that are keeping you stuck in anxiety or pressure.

At times, we may also explore how your past experiences or upbringing are shaping how you approach this transition, especially around control, responsibility, and expectations.
