Anxiety & Depression Therapy for Women in NYC
Supporting women in NYC and offering virtual therapy across New York and New Jersey.
Anxiety and depression don’t always look like crisis.
Many women I work with are high-functioning — managing responsibilities, showing up for others, and getting through their day — while internally feeling anxious, disconnected, low or stuck.
From the outside, things may seem fine. Internally, it can feel like constant worry, heaviness, or a sense of not fully being yourself.
You can book a free 15 minute consultation below to talk through what’s going on and see if this feels like a good fit.
You don’t have to commit to ongoing therapy to book this call.
Understanding What You’re Experiencing
Anxiety and depression don’t always look obvious, especially when you’re still functioning day to day.
What’s happening can be easy to miss from the outside. You may be getting through your responsibilities, staying productive, and keeping things moving, while internally feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, or stuck in your thoughts.
Part of what’s driving this is that your system has been under a constant level of pressure for a while — whether that’s from stress, responsibility, or trying to keep everything together. Over time, your mind and body adapt to that by staying in a more activated or shut-down state, even when there’s no immediate reason to.
That’s why your mind may not fully turn off. You might find yourself overthinking, feeling on edge, or carrying a low level of heaviness that’s hard to explain. Even things you used to enjoy can start to feel more distant or effortful.
Over time, this can create a split between how you appear externally and how you actually feel internally.
This doesn’t mean there’s something wrong with you. It’s often a sign that your system has been holding more than it’s had space to process.
How Therapy Can Help
Therapy offers a space to slow down and explore what’s underneath how you’re feeling.
Rather than pushing symptoms away, we focus on understanding them and developing ways to support your emotional well-being.
In therapy, you can:
Understand the patterns contributing to anxiety or low mood
Make sense of your thoughts, emotions, and reactions
Develop tools to manage worry, tension, and emotional overwhelm
Reconnect with yourself and what you’re feeling
Build a greater sense of stability and emotional regulation
Feel more grounded and supported in your daily life
The goal is not just symptom relief, but helping you feel more like yourself again.
How I Work
In my practice, I work with women who are navigating anxiety and depression while continuing to manage their lives and responsibilities.
My approach is thoughtfuland grounded in both insight and practical support. I pay close attention to patterns over time, helping you understand how your experiences have developed and what will actually help shift them.
Part of our work may include identifying unhelpful thought patterns and cycles that contribute to anxiety and low mood, and working with them in a more intentional way. When it feels useful, I also offer practical tools, information, or exercises that you can apply outside of sessions.
We may also explore how earlier experiences, including upbringing, relational dynamics and negative events, continue to shape how you think, feel, and respond in the present.
Over time, we can also explore whether EMDR is a good fit. EMDR helps get to the root of what’s driving certain patterns, rather than just talking about them, and allows those experiences to be processed in a way that isn’t only cognitive, but also somatic. This can help the insight we bring to light actually shift how you feel day to day, not just how you understand things.
This creates a steady space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to shift how you relate to yourself and your needs.
Focus areas often include:
Anxiety, overthinking, and persistent worry
Low mood, emotional numbness, and disconnection
Internal pressure, self-criticism, and perfectionism
Emotional regulation and stress response
Patterns across work, relationships, and daily life
Feeling more grounded, clear, and connected to yourself
Together, we work toward helping you feel more steady, understood, and supported in a way that carries into your everyday life.

Many women experiencing anxiety also notice patterns of perfectionism and people-pleasing, or feel pressure as high-achieving women trying to manage it all.
