Therapy for Overwhelmed Women in NYC

Supporting women in NYC and providing virtual therapy across New York and New Jersey.

Many women carry significant emotional, relational, or mental weight that isn’t obvious to others. You might be managing relationships, work, responsibilities, decisions, expectations, and the pressure to keep going — staying capable and functional while feeling depleted, overwhelmed, or quietly stuck inside.

You don’t need to be “high-achieving,” visibly overwhelmed, or outwardly successful to belong in therapy here.

This work is for women whose load is real, even when it’s unseen or hard to name.

Understanding What You’re Carrying

Sometimes the weight you’re holding does not have one clear source.

It can build slowly over time through responsibilities, relationships, expectations, and the habit of continuing to show up no matter how you feel.

You might notice:

  • Feeling like you’re constantly holding it together, even when things feel heavy inside

  • Carrying mental or emotional weight from work, relationships, or daily responsibilities

  • Feeling exhausted, flat, or overwhelmed without a single obvious reason

  • Minimizing your own needs because you’re managing or think you should be fine

  • Struggling to justify needing support or rest

  • Feeling disconnected from yourself or unsure what you need anymore

Even without a clear crisis, the experience of carrying so much internally can leave you feeling worn down and alone in it.

How Therapy Can Help

Therapy offers space to slow down and take your internal experience seriously.

You do not need to prove that you’re struggling enough or explain why you deserve support.

In therapy, you can:

  • Put words to what you’ve been carrying, even if it’s been hard to name

  • Understand the patterns that keep you in over-functioning or self-neglect

  • Explore the pressure you place on yourself and where it comes from

  • Begin to recognize and respond to your own needs more clearly

  • Develop boundaries that feel more supportive and realistic

  • Feel more grounded, steady, and connected to yourself

This creates space to better understand your experience and develop a more clear and intentional relationship with yourself.

Why work with me?

In my practice, I work with women who are used to managing, holding, and continuing, often without much space to process what that actually feels like.

My approach is thoughtful and grounded in both insight and practical support. I pay close attention to patterns over time, helping you understand not just what you’re carrying, but how you’ve come to carry it in the way that you do.

Part of our work may include identifying unhelpful thought patterns and cycles that contribute to stress, pressure, or self-criticism, and working with them in a more intentional way. When it feels useful, I also offer practical tools, information, or exercises that you can apply outside of sessions.

We also explore how earlier experiences, including upbringing and relational dynamics, continue to shape how you think, feel, and respond in the present.

This work moves at a steady pace. It allows you to slow down, reflect, and begin to shift how you relate to yourself, your responsibilities, and your needs.

Focus areas often include:

  • Emotional weight, mental load, and internal pressure

  • Stress related to work, relationships, or ongoing responsibilities

  • Chronic overwhelm, emotional fatigue, or feeling worn down

  • Boundaries, self-expectations, and over-functioning

  • Guilt around rest, self-focus, or asking for help

  • Reconnecting with your own needs, identity, and sense of steadiness

  • Specific challenges related to work, relationships, or life transitions

Together, we work toward helping you feel more supported, lighter, and more at ease within yourself, without needing to reach a breaking point first.

Natalie is really amazing. Speaking to her makes me feel heard and understood! She gives you tools that helps to figure out the issues instead of just simply telling you what to do. She’s amazing!

If this resonates, you can book a free 15–30 minute consultation to talk through what’s going on and see if working together feels like a good fit.

The consultation is free and a chance to see if this feels right for you. Therapy sessions following the consultation are $250 for 50 minutes.

If you feel like you’re carrying a lot, you may also be dealing with burnout, overwhelm, or high-functioning anxiety.
Some women also notice patterns of people-pleasing or perfectionism, especially when trying to manage multiple roles and expectations.
