Therapy for Stress, Burnout & Overwhelm in NYC
Working with women in NYC and offering virtual therapy across New York and New Jersey.
Many women I work with are managing full lives — work, relationships, and the constant mental load of daily life — and feel chronically overwhelmed, even when everything looks fine from the outside.
You may be getting through what you need to each day, but internally feel tense, depleted, or like there’s no real space to reset.
Over time, this kind of ongoing pressure can start to feel like your baseline.
Understanding What You’re Experiencing
Stress and overwhelm are not always tied to one specific problem. They often build gradually through responsibilities, expectations, and the pace of daily life.
You might notice:
Mental fatigue and difficulty slowing down
Feeling overwhelmed by responsibilities, even manageable ones
Burnout related to work, caregiving, and/or ongoing demands
Trouble resting without guilt or feeling like you should be doing more
Constant pressure, tension, or feeling on edge
Difficulty feeling fully present or settled
Even when things are technically “working,” the internal experience can feel unsustainable over time.
How Therapy Can Help
Therapy offers space to step out of the constant push to keep going and instead understand what’s contributing to how you’re feeling.
Rather than quick fixes, therapy helps you build awareness and make changes that feel realistic, supportive and sustainable.
In therapy, you can:
Understand what’s driving your stress and sense of overwhelm
Recognize patterns that keep you in cycles of overextension
Explore your relationship to rest, productivity, and expectations
Develop boundaries that feel clearer and more sustainable
Learn ways to regulate stress and feel more grounded day to day
Create space for yourself without guilt
The goal is not to eliminate responsibility, but to help your life feel more manageable and aligned with your well-being.
Why work with me?
In my practice, I work with women who are used to managing a lot and continuing to function, even when it comes at a cost internally.
My approach is thoughtful and grounded in both insight and practical support. I pay close attention to patterns over time, helping you understand not just what you’re experiencing, but how it has developed and what will actually help shift it.
Part of our work may include identifying unhelpful thought patterns and cycles that contribute to pressure, guilt, or self-criticism, and working with them in a more intentional way. When it feels useful, I also offer practical tools, information, or exercises that you can use outside of sessions.
We also explore how earlier experiences, including upbringing and relational dynamics, continue to shape how you think, feel, and respond in your current roles and relationships.
This creates a steady space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to shift how you relate to yourself, your responsibilities, and your needs.
Focus areas often include:
Chronic stress, overwhelm, and mental fatigue
Burnout related to work, caregiving, or ongoing demands
Difficulty slowing down or allowing rest
Boundaries, expectations, and over-functioning
Emotional regulation and internal pressure
Balancing responsibilities in a way that feels more manageable
Together, we work toward helping you feel more grounded, supported, and able to move through your life without everything feeling like too much.

Natalie is really amazing. Speaking to her makes me feel heard and understood! She gives you tools that helps to figure out the issues instead of just simply telling you what to do. She’s amazing!

If this resonates, you can book a free 15–30 minute consultation to talk through what’s going on and see if working together feels like a good fit.
The consultation is free and a chance to see if this feels right for you. Therapy sessions following the consultation are $250 for 50 minutes.
Burnout and overwhelm often overlap with high-functioning anxiety and patterns of perfectionism or people-pleasing.
If you’re carrying a lot mentally, you may also relate to therapy for women carrying a lot or therapy for mothers managing the emotional load.
